Live: Israel accused of 'massacre' in northern Gaza raid, strikes target Beirut
Gaza’s Civil Defence has reported mass casualties after Israeli forces demolished a dozen residential buildings in Jabalia, a northern Gaza refugee camp, calling it a “major massacre.” Israeli tanks also targeted Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, damaging its intensive care unit with shelling and machine-gun fire.
An Israeli delegation is set to travel to Doha for ceasefire talks after Qatar and the US announced efforts to restart negotiations.
In the past 24 hours, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have claimed at least 19 lives, raising the death toll there to 2,593 since the conflict began in October 2023. In Gaza, 42,847 people have been killed, with 100,544 wounded, while 1,139 people were killed in Israel during Hamas-led attacks, and over 200 were taken hostage.

Frank Smyth, founder of Global Journalist Security, spoke to Al Jazeera about the extreme risks facing journalists in Gaza. He noted that more journalists have been killed in Gaza over the past year than in any other conflict zone worldwide, with most being local reporters documenting their own communities.
Smyth emphasized evidence suggesting Israeli forces are directly targeting journalists, while indiscriminate bombings have also claimed the lives of many media workers.
