**Google Doodle Today:** To celebrate the para athletes competing in the Equestrian events at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, Google has unveiled a special doodle. The animated design features a tiny bird wearing a helmet riding a horse, while a hen referees the event. Google’s description reads, “Galloping for gold! Time to saddle up for the Para Equestrian events at the Château de Versailles.” Unlike the Olympics, which includes three equestrian disciplines, the Paralympic Games focus solely on dressage, where both rider and horse are judged.

According to Olympics.com, equestrian events are judged based on riding accuracy, artistic finesse, and the horse's gait and halts. Para dressage, which started as a leisure activity, saw its first competitions in the 1970s.

Para dressage became a part of the Paralympic Games at the Atlanta 1996 Games.
