About a quarter of the 22,000 Palestinians injured in Israel’s war on Gaza have suffered "life-changing" injuries, according to the World Health Organization. Israel’s military bombed the UN-run al-Jaouni school in central Gaza for the fifth time since October, killing at least 18 people. Witnesses reported that “women and children were blown to pieces” in the attack.
Among the dead were six UNRWA staff, including the shelter's manager. The agency's head condemned the "endless and senseless killing," as the total number of its staff killed in the conflict reached at least 220.
So far, more than 41,118 people have been killed and 95,125 injured in Gaza. In Israel, at least 1,139 people have died since the Hamas-led October 7 attacks, with over 200 taken hostage.
