Welcome to Wrestling Inc.'s weekly review of "WWE Raw." This episode aired just before WWE Bash in Berlin and focused on advancing ongoing feuds and kicking off the Intercontinental Championship tournament. We’ll break down the highlights and low points, though we had to skip over some segments, including the Randy Orton promo and another loss for the Pure Fusion Collective, whose name remains as unfortunate as their record.,,,
You can catch the full details on our "Raw" results page, but we have some highlights that really stirred up our emotions! Did we get excited seeing the Terror Twins rocking each other's shirts? Were we blown away by Bronson Reed’s daring dive onto a prone Braun Strowman on top of a car? And did the Wyatt Sicks storyline fizzle out because of a poorly executed mask and wig? Here are three things we hated and three things we loved from the August 26, 2024 episode of "WWE Raw.",,
Loved: The Terror Twins make Mondays something to look forward to...
Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley have been on an incredible streak as the Judgment Day's Terror Twins. Their performances have been consistently captivating, blending dominance and ambition in their antics. Even in moments of failure, it's often due to their boldness and eagerness for revenge, which sometimes leaves them vulnerable to craftier opponents. Priest and Ripley stand out as the strongest babyfaces on the red brand, with their segments frequently being among the show's highlights....
If Garfield had the chance to watch Priest deliver his flawless South of Heaven chokeslams every week, he might not dread Mondays so much.
Priest and Ripley continued their quest for revenge against The Judgment Day after Finn Balor's faction took down the LWO. It's refreshing to see a different faction involved in this storyline, adding variety to the booking. Priest and Ripley cleaned house post-match, and while they couldn't immediately take out their main rivals, their combination of a South of Heaven chokeslam and a Riptide made the ring tremble. The final scene was particularly intriguing, featuring not just Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio—Priest and Ripley's usual targets—but also Balor. This detail highlights WWE's attention to continuity in Priest's ongoing feud with Balor, providing a thoughtful reminder of their rivalry amidst the show's broader narrative....
While this feud is certainly engaging, there's room for it to reach its full potential. With such high-caliber talent involved—the Terror Twins and Balor, Mysterio, and Morgan—this rivalry should be more than just a series of post-match confrontations and backstage scrambles. To truly make an impact, especially if the feud is set to continue beyond Bash in Berlin, it needs an added layer of intensity.
Both sides have done well in building tension, but the stakes need to be elevated to match their fervor. We need to see more dramatic moments: property damage, cutting-edge promos, and violence that would justify the breakdown of one of the red brand's most dominant factions.
The Judgment Day and Terror Twins' feud is already a standout on Monday nights. If it ramps up in intensity, it could become the standout highlight of the show.
