**Israel-Gaza Conflict Live Updates: WHO Announces Polio Vaccination Campaign Starting Sunday**

The World Health Organization has announced that Israel will implement limited "humanitarian pauses" to facilitate essential polio vaccinations in Gaza. These pauses are scheduled to begin on September 1 and will occur in specific locations and times. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the next 48 hours will be used to finalize logistical arrangements for the vaccination campaign.

In the past 24 hours, Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 79 Palestinians and injured 77, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. A central Gaza attack overnight killed nine family members, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child.

China condemned Israel during a UN Security Council meeting, warning against allowing a similar humanitarian disaster in the West Bank.

The ongoing conflict has led to at least 40,602 deaths and 93,855 injuries in Gaza. In contrast, approximately 1,139 people were killed in Israel during Hamas-led attacks on October 7.
