An Israeli official told The Times of Israel, "We are fighting Hamas as if there are no negotiations, and we are negotiating as if there is no war," reflecting Netanyahu's stance that both military and diplomatic pressure must be applied to Hamas to secure a deal. The official emphasized that Netanyahu supports the U.S.-proposed "bridging deal" presented last week in Doha, Qatar.

"We will continue fighting as long as Hamas does not agree to a deal," the official stated. "If a deal is reached, there will be a temporary lull in the fighting, but our goal is to achieve all of our war objectives."
