Ansar members will no longer be required to undergo a mandatory six-month rest period, announced Home Advisor Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
During a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday, he stated, "After discussions with my fellow advisors, we have decided to discontinue the rest policy."
To address other demands, a committee will be established. "This committee will review the situation and submit a report, upon which we will base our decisions," he added.
Currently, Ansar members must take a six-month rest period after every three years of service, often leading to severe financial difficulties.
The advisor mentioned that they are exploring ways to eliminate this policy and regularize employment. "A representative committee of four Ansar members will provide recommendations within the next seven days," he noted.
Information Advisor Nahid Islam, present at the briefing, said the committee would thoroughly assess the situation before reaching a conclusion. Despite the ongoing national crisis, the committee aims to find a well-considered solution through detailed discussions.
"However, the initial decision to abolish the rest policy has already been made," he confirmed.
Meanwhile, a member of the Ansar delegation mentioned, "We spoke with the advisor, and he was very supportive. Given the current situation in the country, we have decided to suspend our movement."
