UNRWA Head Accuses Israel of Using Google Ads to Block Donations to the Agency

 The Commissioner-General claims the Israeli government has launched a defamation campaign against the UN agency.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has accused the Israeli government of "buying ads on Google to prevent users from donating" to the agency.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated in a post on X that Israel’s efforts to defame the agency not only damage its reputation but also endanger the lives of its staff.

“These deliberate efforts to spread misinformation must end and be investigated,” Lazzarini wrote on Saturday, urging stricter regulations for companies and social media platforms to address disinformation and hate speech.
