The Palestine Football Association (PFA) submitted a proposal in May to suspend Israel from international football. FIFA had initially ordered an urgent legal review and promised to address it at an extraordinary council meeting in July.
FIFA announced last month that the legal assessment would be shared with its council by August 31. However, it has now postponed the review until October.
FIFA stated, “We have received the independent legal assessment of the PFA’s proposal against Israel. This assessment will be sent to the FIFA Council for review, and the topic will be discussed at its next meeting in October.”
FIFA did not provide further details on the assessment or specify the exact date of the October meeting.
