Liverpool and Juventus reach agreement on Federico Chiesa deal, sources confirm..
Liverpool and Juventus have agreed on a £10 million ($13 million) deal for Federico Chiesa, according to ESPN sources.
The 26-year-old forward is currently en route to Liverpool for a medical to finalize the transfer, which also includes up to £2.5 million in performance-based add-ons.
Chiesa, who is in the final year of his contract, has fallen out of favor with Juventus under new coach Thiago Motta. He was previously close to a €13 million ($14.5 million) move to Barcelona earlier this month, but the deal did not materialize.
"I'm really happy and excited for this new adventure," Chiesa said in Italian media footage as he arrived at the airport on Wednesday. "I want to thank the Juventus fans for their support over the years; I will always keep you in my heart. Thanks, Juventus."
Despite a series of injuries, including a 10-month recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, Liverpool is drawn to Chiesa for his skill and versatility.
