Israeli forces have caused significant destruction in the occupied West Bank, blowing up homes in the Jabriyat neighborhood of the Jenin refugee camp as they continue their largest military assault on Palestinian territory in over two decades.
Reporting from Jenin, Al Jazeera's Nour Odeh described the scene: "Jenin is a ghost town. All shops are closed, and no one is leaving their homes." Paramedics are struggling to reach people in the camp due to blocked telecommunications.
"Palestinian residents are pleading for access to food, water, and medical aid," Odeh added. "This is day four, and the residents of the refugee camp have virtually no access to any outside help."
Several gun battles between Palestinian fighters and Israeli soldiers have been reported in Jenin, with social media videos showing extensive damage in the area. The armed wing of Hamas stated that its members have "engaged in armed clashes" with Israeli forces in the village of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin.
