On Monday evening, Optimum experienced a widespread outage in the Metro New York area.
DownDetector.com reported a significant increase in outage reports from Optimum users starting around 8 p.m. By 9 p.m., over 9,700 reports of service disruptions had been logged on the site, which tracks outages.
Calls to Optimum customer service indicated wait times of up to 35 minutes, with some callers reporting being on hold for over an hour.
Around 9:45 p.m., @OptimumHelp on X (formerly Twitter) posted: "We are aware of an outage affecting all services. We are working to restore service, but an estimated repair time is not yet available. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible."
