Hezbollah's deputy chief has vowed that the group is fully prepared to face an Israeli ground offensive, despite the killing of its leader and several senior commanders. Sheikh Naim Qassem, in a defiant address on Monday, insisted that Israel has not diminished Hezbollah's military capabilities. Despite recent bombardments in Lebanon, Qassem affirmed that the Iran-backed group remains committed to its fight.
He stated that Hezbollah’s operations have continued unabated since the death of leader Hassan Nasrallah on Friday, and a new leadership will soon be established through “internal mechanisms,” though he provided no further details.
"We are ready," Qassem declared, adding that Hezbollah's resistance forces are prepared to repel any Israeli ground incursion. He accused Israel of trying to create chaos through civilian massacres across Lebanon, targeting homes, ambulances, children, and the elderly, rather than engaging with fighters.
Qassem also highlighted the role of the U.S. as a key ally of Israel, providing "unlimited military, cultural, political, and financial support." He ended his message by recalling Hezbollah’s victory in its 2006 confrontation with Israel, asserting, "We will win again."
