Gaza’s Civil Defense reports that Israeli tank fire has hindered rescue efforts for people trapped under rubble after a home was destroyed in Khan Younis. Israeli bombardments continue across Gaza, with attacks intensifying in the south and central regions.
At least 20 people have been killed in the latest Israeli strikes, which have primarily targeted Deir el-Balah in central Gaza and Khan Younis in the south, according to our correspondent in the Gaza Strip.
A UN official described the timing as "hardly worse," as staff are forced to abandon Gaza headquarters and suspend operations just before a planned polio vaccination campaign.
The Israeli military has launched a large-scale operation involving attack helicopters and fighter jets in the West Bank cities of Jenin and Tulkarem.
The conflict has resulted in at least 40,476 deaths and 93,647 injuries in Gaza. On October 7, an estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during Hamas-led attacks.
Israeli forces have blocked all access to Jenin City in the occupied West Bank amid a major military operation by Israel in the Palestinian territory, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.
Two Palestinians have been reported killed in the ongoing clashes. Local resistance fighters claim they are countering the Israeli incursion with “bullets and explosive devices.” Verified video clips from Al Jazeera Arabic capture the heavy gunfire and explosions in Jenin.
