Israel’s continuous bombardment of Gaza has released a hidden, lethal threat: asbestos.
While harmless when undisturbed, asbestos becomes highly carcinogenic once broken and dispersed into the air. Much of Gaza's infrastructure contains this material. Over the past year, Israeli bombings have shattered large amounts of it, turning asbestos into fine airborne particles that can cause cancer when inhaled. Experts predict Gaza will face rising cancer cases "for decades" due to this exposure.
