Anna Sorokin, the woman who fraudulently posed as a wealthy German heiress under the name Anna Delvey, embarks on her latest venture.
Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, the con artist who falsely portrayed herself as a wealthy German heiress, is taking on a new venture: Dancing With the Stars. Despite wearing an ankle bracelet since October 2022 due to house arrest, Sorokin will appear in the show's upcoming 33rd season.
On Wednesday, Good Morning America revealed Sorokin’s participation alongside other notable contestants such as former NBA star Dwight Howard, actress Tori Spelling, and Jenn Tran, The Bachelorette’s recent lead.
Sorokin’s house arrest began after she was released from prison in February 2021. Immigration authorities detained her shortly after her release, citing visa overstay issues. She has been under home confinement since October 2022 while she fights deportation to Germany. Despite restrictions, she has managed to start a podcast and remain active in the media.
The show's promo features Sorokin in a glamorous dress and her ankle monitor, embracing her unique situation. The new season of Dancing With the Stars premieres on September 17, 2024, and will also feature Olympic stars like Stephen Nedoroscik and Ilona Maher.
